iptables software package provides administration tools for packet filtering and NAT, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install iptables
iptables is installed in your system.
Make ensure the iptables package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep iptables *
You will get with iptables package name, version, architecture and description in a table
